Hello Team, I have a sample FMB 920 device am trying to point to the created fleet stack server but it shows its inactive on fleet stack but active on the secondary IP Address of the other server. I used the same port that is provided for in Fleet stack and the correct server on Fleet Stack.

Any assistance will be appreciated

Dear Gaius Muchere,

Here's a detailed and optimized approach to resolving the issue:

  • Network Connectivity Check:

-Verify that the FMB 920 device has a stable internet connection.

-Ensure that the device can reach the Fleet Stack server by pinging its IP address or domain name.

  • Firewall and Port Forwarding:

-Check for any firewall rules on both the device and the server that might be blocking communication.

-Configure port forwarding on your router to allow traffic on the port specified by Fleet Stack to reach the server.

  • Server Configuration Verification:

-Double-check the server configuration in Fleet Stack to ensure that the IP address and port settings are correct.

-Confirm that Fleet Stack is listening on the specified port and is ready to receive data from the device.

  • Check Fleet Stack Logs:

-Investigate the logs on the Fleet Stack server for any error messages or warnings related to incoming connections from the FMB 920 device.

-Look for indications of connectivity issues or misconfigurations that could be causing the device to appear inactive.

  • Device Configuration Review:

-Review the configuration settings on the FMB 920 device to ensure that it is correctly set up to send data to Fleet Stack.

-Verify that the device is configured with the correct IP address and port of the Fleet Stack server.

  • Test with Secondary IP:

-Since the device appears active when pointed to the secondary IP address of another server, try pointing it to another server with the same port to see if it connects successfully.

-This can help determine if the issue is specific to the Fleet Stack server or if it's a broader connectivity issue.

  • Contact Support:

-If the issue persists after trying the above steps, reach out to the support teams for both Fleet Stack and the manufacturer of the FMB 920 device.

-Provide detailed information about the problem, including any error messages or troubleshooting steps you've already taken.

By following these steps systematically, you can identify and address any potential issues preventing the FMB 920 device from connecting to your Fleet Stack server effectively.
