How do I configure specific vehicle types (e.g., buses, delivery vans) in the system?

I have various vehicles in my fleet—buses, vans, maybe trucks. Each category has its own parameters (like seating for buses, cargo volume for vans). Does your software handle these differences seamlessly?

I want my reports and alerts to reflect each vehicle’s unique data points so nothing is overlooked.

When it comes to GPS tracking, most configurations are actually tied to the GPS device and its connectivity, rather than the specific vehicle type. Here’s how it generally works:

1.Same Core Configuration

  • All vehicles—whether buses, vans, or trucks—use the same fundamental process for adding the GPS device information: IMEI, SIM card details, etc.
  • Once connected, the system pulls location and status data the same way for each vehicle.

2.Selecting Vehicle Type

  • During the Add Vehicle process in our system, you can choose a vehicle type (e.g., tractor, scooter, bike, car, truck).
  • Selecting “Bus” or “Van” helps you group and filter vehicles in reports and on the live map, making it easier to manage different categories in one dashboard.

3.Custom Fields & Labels

  • If you need specialized information like seating capacity or cargo volume, you can create custom fields within the software.
  • These fields allow you to store extra data relevant to your fleet’s unique needs, so it appears in reports or alerts as needed.

By using vehicle type selection plus custom fields, you’ll be able to differentiate each category and ensure you capture any unique data points relevant to your operations. If you have further questions or need assistance setting up those custom fields, feel free to let us know!
